Franck Boutté, founder and president of Franck Boutté Consultants, an engineering studio for the sustainable city, first graduated as a civil engineer from the École des Ponts et Chaussées (1988-1992), then spent four years studying at the UNO studio of the Paris-Belleville national school of architecture, which he left before graduating to begin his professional career.
This background gave rise to his wish to bring together these two worlds, which he sees as complementary and inseparable, through a cross-disciplinary exploration of environmental and sustainable development issues.
Made up of often hybrid profiles (engineers, architects, urban planners, researchers), the studio works on all environmental issues at the scale of architectural, urban and territorial projects, with a strong emphasis on research & development and innovation.
In 2022, Franck Boutté was awarded the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme (French national urban planning award) by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion and the Ministry for the Energy Transition, for his pioneering approach to the environmental engineering of architectural, urban and territorial projects.
