A state-certified architect (DPLG, 1983), Jean-Philippe Le Bœuf co-founded the architecture practice CALQ in 1990. He has built the practice on the principle that the architect must master the complete design and delivery cycle of their work, based on a unique skill set combining architecture and construction project management.
CALQ has worked on its own projects, such as the Renaissance building on rue François 1er in Paris (2022), as well as on major collaborations as associate architect with Ricardo Bofill at the Cité du Retiro (2002), with David Chipperfield at Morland Mixité Capitale (2022) and with RCR Arquitectes at the Pointe Amont of Île Seguin (2016). The practice has also acted as construction project manager on major projects such as La Poste du Louvre with Dominique Perrault (2022) and the Ateliers Hermès with RDAI (2013).
Under Jean-Philippe Le Bœuf’s leadership, CALQ has always focused its activity on the rehabilitation of existing and heritage buildings. This committed focus on sobriety has been strengthened by the creation of a timber construction unit and its involvement in the BBCA label.
